Reflection on Tech Fair

I had been working with Poya and Hayato for these couple months before the tech fair. During these months we have built a robot which could solve a rubik's cube in under 3 minutes. From scrambled up to solved in less than 3 minutes. Unfortunately, a couple days before the tech fair, it had malfunctioned and stopped working, so my partner, had decided to use it's parts to make something else. My partner, Poya was presenting it while I was away for the ski trip, he had turned it into a shooter which was based off a motor rotating and pushing a stick at force to shoot plastic balls. He appeared to have designed a score board to shoot into and accumulate points. Below is a picture of the shooter

Ideas for Tech Fair

How can I use technology to produce a master piece project to be displayed in the Tech

Below are my 3 ideas for tech fair, my partner and I will present at EISM tech fair 2014.

Idea 1: Rubik's Cube Solver

Definition: This idea is a robot made out of a mindstorms kit. It can scan a Rubik's cube, calculate the appropriate algorithms required then proceed to solve the Rubik's cube using two motors.

Hardware requirements:
-Computer
-Mindstorm's set
-Android phone

Software requirements:
-Mindstorms program
-Android OS

Advantages:
-Unique
-Intriguing

Disadvantages:
-Hard to program
-Expensive

People Required:
The amount of people required will be 2 or 3 because one will be required to build it and one to two required to program because it is very hard to understand.

I like this Idea because not much people will be able to do it making it interesting. I already have the hardware requirements and have some basic coding knowledge which will enable me to do this.

Idea 2: JavaScript Game

This game will be programmed and designed in a program called MIT app inventor. The objective of the game will be to come in contact with another object as many times as possible.

Hardware requirements:
-Computer running windows
-Android device

Software requirements:
-Android development bridge
-Android OS
-Javascript writing programs
-MIT app inventor

Advantages:
-Interactive
-Fun

Disadvantages:
-Coding knowledge required
-Time consuming

People Required:
2 people are required at the max for this project, one to program and code it and the other to design the project.

I would do this idea because I have already made a game in the past and will easily be able to make another one. I enjoy coding because it unlocks the true potential of my molecular structure.

Idea 3: Robot

Hardware requirements:
-Wheels
-Motor
-RC controller
-Receiver

Software requirements:
-If rc controller is not available android phone with controller app

Advantages:
-Easy to build

Disadvantages:
-Mainstream
-Nothing new

My partner for these projects will be Poya Peirovedin in 8AA

Term 1 Reflection

We have finished term 1 very recently. I very much enjoyed working in ICT this term. It was very fun and helped me enhance my skills of working in IT. I learnt how to create websites using many different methods like HTML. The work we have done was making an HTML document, using that document as a website, several investigation tasks and making a video. We also made some small tasks. Working in IT for term 1 was very enjoyable and I look forward to the work in term 2.

Reflection of Dreamweaver and Weebly

I really like both of these programs for making websites, they both have good advantages and great pros.

I like weebly because it is simple to use and has a very easy interface, it creates good looking websites and has good. Weebly has a lot of features such as buttons and videoplayers. I like dreamweaver because it makes writing HTML easier.

In comparison to dreamweaver, i think that weebly is much better. I think so because when I went on to weebly, I was sure that I was going like dreamweaver more because it looked very hard. However, when i came to the end of the work, I felt that weebly was much easier to make a website as has a very simple mechanism and can help me make websites faster.
